April 2023 was my last month in my 20s, this girl is officially 30! I had some serious reflection on my last 10 years which made me realize and reminisce quite a lot. 20 things I’d tell those in their 20s *I share through my very own thoughts & experiences. Whether your currently in your 20s or 30s or 60s…maybe you’ll find at least 1-2 common perspectives or maybe a slight shift in yours after reading mine!
-
Many people won’t understand what or why you do things. They don’t need to; but they should support you
-
Start reading personal development books, whether that be 10 pages a day OR 10 minutes a day. (Complete perspective shift for me)
-
Before you go purchasing any materialistic item, do you have the cash? Or are you just burring yourself more in debt…
-
Prioritize protein. Preserving lean muscle tissue will only get harder in your 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s… etc.
-
Stop using stress as an excuse. Accept stress & learn ways to cope with it.
-
Schedule moments each week to be ALONE; recharge & re center yourself. Tap into your thoughts & feelings. Brain dumps are a wonderful thing!
-
It’s OK to to not have a baby in your 20s (that decision is up to you & your partner, when you’re ready)
-
Take every obstacle thrown at you & ask yourself what’s the lesson from it.
-
You create your OWN story. Enjoy the little things.
-
Everyone has a story, including strangers. You don’t know where that stranger is in their story. Be kind to all.
-
Create a vision board. Dreams do come true if you work hard. See it, believe it, achieve it.
-
Comfort doesn’t come with change but during changes is when you grow.
-
Search out for win/win opportunity, connections, relationships.
-
Friends will come & go. Friendships / all relationships require effort from both parties. Make sure both are put in equal effort.
-
Entrepreneur not for you? Okay, well perhaps Intrapreneur is.
-
Biz owner? Learn to navigate time spent IN the business vs. ON the business.
-
Weaknesses are part of being human. Accept them and work on them but run with your strengths.
-
Establish Financial Literacy
-
Focus on becoming more proactive rather than reactive.
-
Work hard, play harder. Don’t wait for “Retirement” Life is not promised tomorrow.
